  • Introducing the Collectors Education Program
    Fall 2010 / Winter 2011
    Leading figures of the contemporary art scene will speak about methods for collecting art on a global basis, including how to develop a discerning eye and how best to gain access to artists, collectors, and other galleries. The lectures will be held in the New York City homes of noted collectors of contemporary art, where light dinner and cocktails will be served in a private, intimate setting.

    During Peekskill Celebration at the Riverfront Green
    Saturday, August 7, 2010, 1-5 pm
    After the Fall, HVCCA's upcoming exhibition, focuses on the works of 18 emerging artists from East and Central Europe. East and Central Europe are known for vibrant folk craft. We will be exploring craft traditions from Latvia, Romania, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Croatia.

    Serge Onnen June 10th, 2010 at 7:30pm at HVCCA
    This is your chance to hear about the kaleidoscope sculpture on the waterfront. Meet Serge Onnen and learn what his art is all about.

  • THE CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION:
    44 Works of High School Students from Westchester

    Water Works Opening May 15 through June 13
    Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in each congressional district. The over-all winner of each participating district will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol.

    Water Works Friday, June 4th, 2010 @ 7:30pm
    Join us on Friday, June 4th, 2010 as we unveil Job Koelewijn’s installation Water Works, at Annsville Creek Preserve located off of North Water Street in Peekskill. Click for map/directions.

    Cocktails and other refreshments will be served.

    Event will be held at the HVCCA in the event of rain.
  • MUSIC EVERYWHERE!
    Music June 5th, 2010 starting at 11:00am
    11:00am-12.30PM: free brunch and saxophone music by the artist Daan Padmos. Music will continue all throughout the afternoon. Location: Peekskill waterfront in front of Daan Padmos' sculpture.
    1:00pm-4:00pm: Music will continue at the museum with performances by Dan Padmos Jr. Dan will be playing a composition by Ron Mazurek for Clarinet in Bflat and electronic sound called "Satori".

    Event will be held at the HVCCA in the event of rain.

  • DYLAN GRAHAM: World View in a Paper Cut
    Dylan Graham Sunday, October 11, 2009, 4:00-6:00 PM
    Join us for a special presentation by “Double Dutch” artist Dylan Graham! Dylan Graham’s paper cutouts are monochromatic two-dimensional works made by delicately cutting paper down to minute details. The depictions are generally of dramatic global events seen from both a personal perspective as well as from within a historic-cultural context.

    Double Dutch Thursday, September 17th from 6 to 7:30pm
    HVCCA will host a Round Table Discussion featuring the 9 artists from “Double Dutch.” The artists will discuss art in the Netherlands, arts residencies, educational opportunities, methodologies, and more.

    Sean Kelly Sean Kelly Lecture: Sunday July 26, 4:00-6:00 PM
    Sean Kelly Gallery, founded by British born Sean Kelly in 1991, moved to its current 7,000 sq ft location on 29th Street in Chelsea in 2001. It established its reputation for diverse, intellectually driven, unconventional exhibitions by artists as Marina Abramovic, Joseph Kosuth, Ann Hamilton, Christine Borland and James Casabere.

    Oded Hirsch was born in Kibbutz Afikim, a small community in the Jordan Valley of Israel. In recent years, Hirsch has explored several issues regarding his place in society by a mixture of autobiographical memories and directed fictions.

    Aaron D. Guadamuz is an animator, musician, and handyman who teaches stop motion animation at AAU in San Francisco and has worked closely with legendary clay animator Bruce Bickford over the last five years.

    Join the Peeksill Education Foundation (PEF) and HVCCA as we raise funds and celebrate the coming together of Art and Education in Peekskill. The Public Tile Project in Peekskill will create a walkway from the Peekskill Train Station to the HVCCA — made from 500 Dutch style tiles designed by the children in our local and area schools.
