Huma Bhabha
(b. 1962, Karachi, Pakistan) sculptures present a post-apocalyptic world of ruin and decay. Her figures and plinths appear both as relics, desecrated monuments, and new, unknown deities created from the detritus of a past civilization.

She was awarded the 2008 Emerging Artist Award from the Aldrich Museum of Art where she currently has a solo exhibition. In 2008 she is in After Nature, at the New Museum; the Gwanju Biennial 2008, curated by Okwui Enwezor; Artists Space, NYC; Loeb Art Center, Vassar College; “USA Today” from Saachi at the Hermitage. She is also included in ORIGINS at HVCCA which opened Sept 2008, 30 artists from 15 countries who use natural materials in their work.

She is represented by Salon 94 and ATM Gallery in New York.
