(b. 1974, Illinois) received his MFA from Yale in 2003 where he was the recipient of the Schactman prize in painting. Mike is represented by Max Protetch in NYC where he just opened the 2008 fall season with a solo exhibit.

He has had previous solo shows at Protetch; The Center for Visual Communication, Miami; Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery, Lincoln, NEB; P.S. 1, NYC. Group exhibits have included Marianne Boesky Gallery, NYC; The Studio Museum in Harlem, NY, and HVCCA where Mike had a painting in XXL: Recent Large Scale Paintings 2007-2008. As in the auction work, his paintings work are quixotic, playful and beautifully rendered.

He constantly challenges notions of front, back, edges, and surface.
