(b. 1981,, NY) Francesca DiMattio studied at Cooper Union (BFA) and Columbia University (MFA). She is represented by Salon 94, NY where she had a solo show in 2006 and will have another in 2009. In 2008 she had a solo show at LAXART, LA. She has been in numerous group shows including at Marvelli Gallery, NYC and Frederic Snitzer Gallery, Miami.

In 2005, at age 24, she was the youngest artist in FIRST LOOK II at HVCCA: 15 US graduate students from among over 1,000 studios visited. In 2007 – 8, she was included in XXL - RECENT LARGE SCALE PAINTING at HVCCA and here her work was in the company of major works by Daniel Buren, Yan Pei-Ming, and Carroll Dunham. Francesca’s thickly applied and lush oil paintings juxtapose birds, architectural fragments, and furniture, in work that is immediately recognizably hers. She is one of the most talented young painters today.
