Tim Eitel
(b. 1971, Germany) Tim Eitel studied fine arts at the Burg Giebichtenstein, Halle,
Germany from 1994 - 1996 and painting at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst
in Leipzig, Germany from 1997 – 2001. He lives and works in Berlin and
New York. He is represented by Eigen-Art, Berlin and PaceWildenstein, NY. He
has had a traveling solo museum exhibit in 2008 – to Kunsthalle Tubingen,
Kunsthalle Kiel, and Kunsthalle Brandts Odense. In 2005 he had an exhibit at
the Saint Louis Art Museum. He has been in over 30 group shows worldwide including
recently at HVCCA in both XXL – Large Scale Painting, and XS – Small
Scale Painting. Tim is among the most highly regarded figurative painters
today. His works are an interpretation of an urban civilization and existential
state of society. His figures defy narrative interpretation - the linguistic
story is subordinate to associative thinking. The auction work is one of great
maturity – a
luminous and poignant portrait.
