(b. 1977, Romania) is among a small group (Savu included) of extraordinary emerging young painters from Romania. He will be in the 2008 Liverpool Biennial and has had recent solo shows at Wohnmaschine, Berlin; Chung King Project, LA; Plan B Gallery, Cluj Romania and now Berlin; and has been in group shows at 2007 Prague Biennale; David Nolan Gallery, NY; Haunch Of Venison, Zurich; Kontainer Gallery, LA. He was in HVCCA’s XS – Recent Small-Scale Paintings 2007-8, that traveled to The Knoxville Museum.

He is represented by Plan-B and Yvon Lambert New York. Within the past two years Ghenie has quickly come to the attention of major museums and collectors throughout the world.

His work is in great demand and the work in this auction (on the cover of our invite) is indicative of his talent.
