Don Porcella received and MFA from Hunter College in 2006. He is represented by Stux Gallery in NYC where he had a solo exhibit in Jan. 2008. In March 2008 he had a person-presentation at the Chicago Art Fair – the entire exhibit sold out. He currently has an exhibit at Marke Wolkfe Gallery, SF with a rave review of a hilarious sculpture made of pipe cleaners depicting two elderly people standiong waste-deep in water.

He has had approximately 30 solo and group exhibits including at Yukiko Kawase Gallery, London; Mixed Greens, NYC; Florida State University, FL; MM galeries, SF; Spike Gallery, NYC. with major accolades in the TIMES, VOICE, and eslewhere.

The auction work, “There Must be a Better Place,” is a major “pipe-cleaner” work of Don’s. It is at once gory and cheesy and at the same time beautiful and hilarious.
