Small Scale Painting which traveled in 2008 to the Knoxville Museum. Savu and Adrian Ghenie are two of the leading young Romanian painters coming to international prominence. This auction work is an exquisitely painted canvas inspired by a real scene captured by the artist somewhere at the periphery of a city. Savu paints “the New Man” caught in the melancholy of his daily condition of anonymity in the transition of Communism to capitalism.
