Andrew Sendor
(b. 1977, NYC) received a BFA from Pratt Institute in 2000. Recent solo exhibitions
have been in 2007 at Caren Golden Fine Art, NY and Mogadishni, Copenhagen. He
has been in some 20 group exhibits – including in
2007-8 at the Memphis College of Art; Kemper Museum, Kansas; Arken
Museum of Modern Art, Denmark; Engholm Engelhorn Gallery, Vienna;
and HVCCA where he was included in XS- Recent Small Scale Paintings that
traveled to the Knoxville Museum. His work has been featured in magazines and
newspapers around the world including Kultur; Interview; M Magazine; Harpers
Bazaar; He first became well-known and widely collected for his oil paintings
on Plexiglas. In the last two years he has worked on canvas and linen and in this startlingly beautiful work made for the HVCCA auction it is apparent that a young painter has reached great maturity.
