Doug and Mike Starn
(b. 1961, NJ) are identical twins who graduated in 1984 from the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and within a year were art stars with inclusion in the 1987 Whitney Biennial. Their conceptual photographic practice only starts with a camera.

They have used science, materials and invention to create some of the most compelling work of the last quarter century. They have had solo shows at major museums around the world including recently in the Netherlands, Portland, Nagama, Melbourne, Wash DC, and Berkeley, and locally at the Neuberger. They are collected by every major NY museum. Upcoming is a 270’ installation at the South ferry subway terminus.

This work is unique and was made by Mike and Doug for the auction. It is an extraordinary example of their work and rare to have such access.
