(b. 1973, Germany) studied painting at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst, Leipzig in 1995 - 01 and graduated as a master student with Prof. S. Gille in 2000 - 03. Recent 2008 solo exhibitions include Gemeentemuseum, Den Haag, Netherlands, CAC Málaga - Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Málaga, Spain and Kloster Bentlage, Rheine. Forthcoming solo exhibition include Kunsthalle Mainz in 2009. He is represented by EIGEN + ART - Berlin. In 2009 he will have a solo exhibit at Kunsthalle Mainz.

Weischer is among the best known young painters today whose heavily painted room interiors already have achieved iconic recognition. The auction work shows the enormous importance of drawing in his ouevre where he is analyzing perception – the abstract from the corresponding graphic and realistic patterns in arriving at a personal image of place.
