For ages 5+ with Terese Giammarco
Terese Giammarco: Before becoming an educator Terese gleaned over 27 years of experience in the television and film industry and can honestly say that having a creative arts background was the second best training she has had for becoming a teacher. After a long career in the performing arts, she used her skills to participate in the founding of a progressive school in up- state New York. Although She studied a variety of approaches toward teaching children including those with developmental disabilities, the best training of all has been her role as a mother to her son Evan. Raising a child with Autism has opened up a world of better understanding towards parenting in the 21st century and is a constant inspiration toward creating a future that holds and supports communities rich with neurodiversity!
Terese has followed the teaching of Dr. Sheridan ever since she was a child living across the street from her family. When Drawing/Writing and the Saving Literacy program was developed, Terese participated in the early training workshops and incorporated the approach into the development of a Math and Literacy program for early childhood through middle school. The program continues to grow and develop with each year and with each individual who brings their own authentic drawing and writing style.
