Peekskill Clay Studios is partnering with Clearwater this fall to create a fundraising event for the nationally recognized grassroots environmental group dedicated to preserving the Hudson River and its tributaries. The event OctoberFEAST, will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2016 (rain date; 10/15) from 12-5 p.m. at the Hat Factory in Peekskill, home to the Peekskill Clay Studios. Festivities include a barbecue lunch, music, a gallery show of regional ceramics and a silent auction. Ticket sales and auction revenue will be donated to Clearwater.
The exhibit, Rivers and Tides: Ceramics Along the Hudson, also opens on October 1st and will showcase the work of 7 wonderful contemporary clay artists including Judy Moonelis and Jeffrey Mongrain (read more on our website under the “events” tab). The Director of Peekskill Clay Studios, Jessica Dubin, is organizing an auction of donated ceramic work and many of the Hat Factory residents are doing their bit to contribute. Local business owner and founder of Peekskill Clay Studios, Ben Green, has just lined up The Hudson River Sloop Singers, a group of wonderful musicians who were among the first to play for Clearwater. They will be coming together again for this good cause and will grace the party with their sweet and rousing tunes. Food, art, music and friends. What more could one ask for?
