The New Hudson River School
Contemporary Artists Address the Regional Landscape
September 29, 2012 - July 28, 2013 @ Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art
This catalog shows the centerpiece exhibition of PEEKSKILL PROJECT V, a year-long citywide art festival of rotating site-specific art exhibitions, performances and screenings sited in multiple venues throughout Peekskill. The exhibition in the main gallery of the museum was curated by renowned critic and curator Lilly Wei and HVCCA director Livia Straus. Drawing from artists who have lived and worked throughout the Hudson Valley region, the exhibition is comprised of works that respond- some more directly than others- to the Hudson River, the landscape of the region and explore themes of human connection to nature.
