Mini-mesters PreK & Kindergarten

mini-mester is a full immersion in the museum experience once a week for four weeks which culminates in an evening reception where parents and members of the community are invited to view the students artwork and get a docent tour of selected works by our young artists!

“As the children returned to the museum week after week, they made the place their own. Through the careful direction of the museum staff, the children were able to experience art in a new way, ask deep and probing questions, and create magnificent pieces, reaching a level of sophistication in art appreciation and creative expression that would be the envy of many adults.”
Maria Stein-Marrison, Director of Manitou School

“Students at Peekskill Middle School had the unique opportunity to collaborate with HVCCA. We had atour of the museum and met two of the exhibiting artists. They presented their installation and spoke with students about the art making process. With the help of the artists and HVCCA staff, students were able to develop an original art piece for permanent installation at the middle school. We are very much looking forward to working with the museum next school year!”
